Welcome to peace and quiet! If seclusion is what you're searching for, then you have found the place! Located on a hobby farm beside of a stocked fishing pond, it's as much of a destination as it is an accommodation. The closest neighbors are 3 friendly donkeys that love to greet guests at the fence for attention and ear rubs. Fishing poles and donkey treats are provided to round out your stay. We're 20 scenic minutes to Slade or Stanton and 25 to Mount Sterling.

Good to know

It's a small space with plenty of room outside to stretch your legs. A large deck spans between the cabin and edge of the water, with a fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill close by. The bedroom features a full-size bed, and there is a comfy full-size futon in the living room. The bathroom has an oversized shower and toilet; the only sink in the space is in the kitchen, just outside the bathroom door. There's an all-in-one washer/dryer in the cabin as well.

Other Details to Note

When I say secluded, I mean it. Why leave the city and drive hours to sleep in a cabin that sits right beside others? There is no shared space. No shared fire pit. No shared anything. You can see neighbors in the distance, but they're not close enough to be significant.

It's quiet and laid back around here. Neighbors are few and friendly. It's a pleasant walk out the road if you want to explore or just walk off dinner.

Guests have access to the entire place. There's lots of parking available, and you're welcome to walk the donkey pasture if you want to wander and explore a little.

Excellent stay. As described and very clean. Had all we needed. Very private, but there are some distant neighbors around which we prefer. Loved the donkeys. The neighborhood dogs visited daily.

Had a wonderful stay at Martin’s place! The cabin is just as described and very cozy. The donkeys were great neighbors. Cabin was very clean and private. Pond was very scenic. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

We had the most wonderful stay at Martin’s cabin! This was a surprise getaway for my partner’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Martin’s hospitality was amazing from start to finish, and the space was spotless, cozy, and welcoming. The cabin itself was so relaxing; whether we were grilling steak, fishing, enjoying a drink by the pond while listening to the fountain, or just cooking an easy meal in the fully stocked kitchen, everything felt effortless. The peaceful setting made it the perfect escape. A highlight of our stay was spending time with the sweet animals, especially the donkeys and the friendliest dogs, Frosty and Brownie. They made it feel even more special and homey. Overall, we had an incredible experience and will definitely be coming back next year. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway!
